Introducing the bad internet widget!
Is your internet bad? Well I’m just a random dude on YouTube, not your internet service provider.
So instead, I made you this widget! It tells your audience whenever you have bad internet or are dropping frames in OBS. That way, they don’t have to wonder if it’s their internet, or your internet. If they see bad internet icon light up, they’ll know it’s all your fault!
Download and extract the bad-internet-widget.zip package
Turn on WebSocket in OBS.
Click Tools > WebSocket Server Settings
Take note of your Port and Server Password
Add the widget to OBS
Create a new browser source
Paste in the file path to index.html
Make sure to uncheck Local File
Add the following parameters to the end of your browser source URL
password | Your OBS Websocket Password |
---|---|
port | Your OBS Websocket Port |

You have now successfully installed the bad internet widget.
Simply go live, and the widget will automatically indicate when you are dropping frames!
